YSEA Annual Dinner and Awards, May 6, 2016

The YSEA held its annual dinner and awards meeting in New Haven on May 6. We were proud to honor the accomplishments and ongoing work of the following notable Yale faculty:


Prof. Edward Tufte, '68 Ph.D., for Distinguished Service to Industry, Commerce or Education
Professor Emeritus of Political Science, Statistics, and Computer Science


Prof. Meg Urry, for Meritorious Service to Yale University
Israel Munson Professor of Physics and Astronomy
Director, Yale Center for Astronomy & Astrophysics
President, American Astronomical Society
Member, National Academy of Sciences


Prof. Chinedum Osuji, for Advancement of Basic and Applied Science
Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering

Emily Chu '19 told of how she discovered Yale Engineering due to her participation in FIRST Robotics, where she met Chris Carosa at the FIRST World Championships in St. Louis in 2015. She continues to volunteer as a mentor for FIRST Team 558 Elm City Robo Squad in New Haven.
